Blooming Roots was created in 2011, with an original focus on social media and reputation management for small, local businesses in Portland, OR.  As clients' needs evolved however, I began providing a wider range of services, including:

About Brian.

I took my first steps into the advertising and marketing world toward the end of my senior year in college, when I was approached by the school about transforming a prescription drug abuse campaign I'd created for class, into a multiple campus-wide effort.  Seeing your work out there for the first time is exciting; I was lucky enough to have my chance pop up in association with something I can still say I was happy I was a part of.

In 2006, I moved to New York City, and soon after began my media strategy career at Horizon Media.  Horizon provided me with a solid foundational education in project management, market research, target development, media planning and negotiations, as well as more general skills such as client management, efficient workplace communication, and management of junior level employees.  After about 3 1/2 years in the hustle of NYC, I decided to take the path I'd always planned to: Go West.

Portland has been a fantastic change, both personally and professionally. I've now had the opportunity to work with several smaller and regional brands at a small full-service agency here in Portland. Since branching out on my own to start Blooming Roots, I've also been able to work with some very local companies, and even individuals looking to start their own businesses. The range of experiences has been more enlightening than I could have imagined, often being reminded that the scale of a project often as little to no correlation to its challenges. In the end, it's given me a range of experience that many marketers never have the chance to acquire, and doing so has made me that much better at what I do.
